King's Garden

Location | Torquay, UK

King's Gardens are part of the larger Torre Abbey Gardens, which date back to 1196 when Torre Abbey was founded as a monastery. Over the centuries, the surrounding gardens have been developed and maintained to enhance the beauty of the area

The gardens are known for their beautifully maintained flower beds, including seasonal blooms, exotic plants, and palm trees that reflect the warm climate of the English Riviera. The gardens include sub-tropical plants that thrive in the area's mild microclimate.

Lakes, ditches and wonderful wildlife habitats attract birds such as grey herons as well as provide frogs, newts, fish and dragonflies a healthy habitat to thrive. The colourful flowers provide nectar for insects and the reeds and bulrushes provide shelter for nesting birds.
