Emberton Country Park is a public park located close to Olney town centre
The site is a rural retreat at the heart of Olney town centre. Created in 1965 from a former gravel extraction site that was used to create the nearby M1 motorway. It is now a 200 acre wetland habitat that boasts a number of bird species
The park has a wide variety of trees which provide a valuable habitat for all kinds of wildlife. They support many species of insects, moths, bats and squirrels, as well as many different birds and home to species such as Grass Snake, Common Toad, Tench, Roach, Pike and Bream, with 24 species of Damsel and Dragonfly also present.
Emberton Country Park is a historic parkland that boasts Lakes, ditches and wonderful wildlife habitats which attract birds such as Swans and Great Crested Grebes as well as providing food and shelter for nesting waterbirds and a healthy habitat for frogs, fish and dragonflies to thrive. The colourful flowers provide nectar for insects and the reeds and bulrushes provide shelter for nesting birds.
