Parnell Bridge

Location | Wicklow, Ireland

Inch Park is located next to one of Ireland's famous historical monuments, Cahir Castle. Standing proudly on an island in the River Suir, the Castle is one of Ireland's best preserved Castles.

Built by Conchobar Ua Briain, King of Thomond in 1142, it has seen its battles. With its most recent in 1981 when it was featured in the movie Excalibur! Sitting picturesquely next to the Castle is Inch Park. A green flag award winner in 2022, this park is well maintained and has become home to many wildfowl which you will see walking through the park and on the river banks.

Lakes, ditches and wonderful wildlife habitats attract birds such as grey herons as well as provide frogs, newts, fish and dragonflies a healthy habitat to thrive. The colourful flowers provide nectar for insects and the reeds and bulrushes provide shelter for nesting birds.
