Queens Park
Location | Blackburn, UK
Queen's Park is a late-19th-century urban park and features a serpentine lake covering about 1.4 hectares.

The park was designed and laid out by J B McCallum. The aim of the Town Council was not simply to provide an ornamental garden or park, but also facilities for boating, swimming, skating, cricket, and other athletic games.

The park was opened on the 20th of June 1887 by Edward VII, when he was the Prince of Wales

Lakes, ditches and wonderful wildlife habitats attract birds such as grey herons as well as provide frogs, newts, fish and dragonflies a healthy habitat to thrive. The colourful flowers provide nectar for insects and the reeds and bulrushes provide shelter for nesting birds.
